BEFORE YOU START
Buy a Clé from the Black Market shop in the lower-right corner of Hernand City. It opens most locked doors in this quest (and many others throughout the game).
WALKTHROUGH
- ENTER THE COURTYARD
Head to the quest marker. A group of thieves blocks the entrance — defeat them, then proceed into the courtyard ahead.

- NAVIGATE THE SPIKE TRAPS
The courtyard is filled with spike traps. Watch the lantern color: when it glows red, immediately move to a safe spot. Once the red light fades, it's safe to continue.

- EXPLORE THE TWO BUILDINGS
There are two buildings inside the courtyard: one directly ahead and one to the left.
Building Straight Ahead (Enter First)
The entrance is not the front door — climb onto the shed attached to the left side of the building and squeeze through the gap to get inside.

Drop to the first floor and speak to the bound woman. She'll put you through a test-of-character conversation.

After the dialogue, pick up the Artefact abyssal from the table nearby.

Building to the Left
Use your key to unlock the door of the left building. Inside, collect the book "World Ranged Weapons — Archery Complete Vol. 1."
- FIND THE WISE WITCH'S HOUSE
Follow the quest marker to the Wise Witch's residence. On the right-side table inside, pick up the recipe "Thé au miel."

- SPEAK TO THE WISE WITCH
Talk to the Wise Witch to complete the quest.

The Wise Witch's services: She can socket your equipment or install Abyss Gears to add stat bonuses to your gear — worth returning to when you have Artefacts de l'Abysse to spend.
After this conversation, the Chapter 5 main quest "Black and White" becomes available.
