広く分厚い胴体と大きな角を持つ頭部が特徴の大型甲虫。雄の角は戦いと求愛に使われ、力が非常に強い。主に木の樹液と果物を食べる。蛹の時期を経て夏場に盛んに活動し、その威容と力強さから「昆虫の王」とも呼ばれる。
A large beetle known for its broad, thick body and prominent horn on its head. The male's horn is used for fighting and attracting mates, and it is incredibly strong. It mainly feeds on tree sap and fruit. After going through a pupal stage, it becomes active in the summer, and thanks to its impressive appearance and strength, it is often called the king of insects.
