胴体と脚にくっきりとした黄色と黒の縞模様があり、トラを思わせるクモ。巨大な丸い巣を作り、飛び回る昆虫を捕獲する。強靭な糸は風にも簡単に切れることがない。毒は獲物を麻痺させるのに効果的だが、人にはほとんど影響がない。夏から秋にかけて特に盛んに活動する。
A spider with distinct yellow and black stripes on its body and legs, reminiscent of a tiger. It makes a large circular net to capture flying insects, and its strong spider web does not break easily, even in the wind. The venom is effective in paralyzing insects but is not a significant danger to humans. It is especially active in summer and autumn.
