날개 전체가 짙은 흑갈색 바탕이며, 앞날개와 뒷날개를 가로질러 에메랄드빛 녹색의 넓은 띠가 이어져 있고, 이 녹색 띠는 빛의 각도에 따라 청록색~청자색으로 변하며, 공작 깃털과 같은 금속 광택을 낸다. 끝부분에는 짧은 꼬리 모양 돌기가 있다.
