여러 마디로 나누어진 길쭉한 몸체에 다리가 잔뜩 달린 절지동물. 길이에 따라 15개에서 많게는 300개에 달하는 다리로 빠르게 이동한다. 간혹 다리가 끊어지거나 잘려 나가는 경우 다시 재생되며, 나무 밑과 같은 어둡고 습한 곳에서 서식한다.
Centipedes are elongated, multi-segmented insects known for their large amount of legs. They can have anywhere from 15 to over 300 legs, depending on their length, which can be regenerated if lost. These fast-moving, nocturnal predators often seek out dark, moist habitats usually under logs.
