날개 윗면은 선명한 주황색 바탕에 여러 개의 검은 세로줄이 앞날개와 뒷날개를 따라 뻗어 있다. 뒷날개에는 길고 뾰족하게 뻗은 단검 모양의 꼬리 돌기가 있으며, 외곽에는 검은색 테두리가 둘러져 있다. 날개 아랫면은 마른 나뭇잎처럼 보인다.
