몸통과 다리에 뚜렷한 노란색과 검은색 줄무늬가 있어 호랑이를 연상시키는 거미다. 커다란 원형 그물을 만들어 날아다니는 곤충을 포획하며, 강한 거미줄은 바람에도 쉽게 끊어지지 않는다. 독은 곤충을 마비시키는 데 효과적이지만 사람에게는 큰 위험이 없다. 여름과 가을철에 특히 활발히 활동한다.
A spider with distinct yellow and black stripes on its body and legs, reminiscent of a tiger. It makes a large circular net to capture flying insects, and its strong spider web does not break easily, even in the wind. The venom is effective in paralyzing insects but is not a significant danger to humans. It is especially active in summer and autumn.
