Overview

Kailok the Hornsplitter is the final boss of Chapter 2 in Crimson Desert. As the corrupt leader of the Goldleaf Merchant Guild, Kailok wields a wind-infused sword and uses slippery evasive tactics to keep you off balance. Despite his goblin appearance, he hits harder than you would expect. Entering the Goldleaf Guildhouse triggers a cutscene that drops you straight into the fight with no warm-up.

Preparation

•Refine your weapons at a Smithy before entering — extra damage shortens the fight noticeably

•Visit a nearby Grindstone for a temporary Attack Buff (lasts a set number of strikes, activate right before entering)

•Equip Sword and Shield — blocking and parrying are essential

•Bring 50+ Grilled Meat for healing

•Force Palm is mandatory — it creates your primary damage window

•Keep Abyss Artifact skills equipped for stagger windows

Key attack patterns

Wind Slash: A ranged projectile fired in a straight line. Do not roll backward — dodge sideways and keep moving laterally.

Evasive Roll: When Kailok takes sustained hits, he leaps toward your blindspot. Raise your shield immediately to lock the camera on him.

Unblockable Slam: When your shield flashes red, Kailok leaps into the air and slams down. Do NOT block — dodge roll to avoid. He is vulnerable briefly after landing.

Red Glint Counter: After you land two hits, watch for a red glint on his weapon signaling a counter. Use Force Palm to stagger him and open a burst damage window.

Core strategy

The fight revolves around the Parry-Force Palm loop:

1.Parry Kailok's sword swings

2.Land two quick attacks while he flinches (do not overextend)

3.Watch for the red glint — fire Force Palm to stagger

4.Unload heavy attacks and Abyss Artifact skills during the stagger

5.Build the yellow stagger meter with heavy attacks for a finisher

6.Repeat

Learnable skill

During the fight, Kailok performs an Evasive Roll. Keep your camera facing him and hold the Interact button to absorb the technique. If you miss it, spend 1 Abyss Artifact to unlock it instead.
