以其鮮豔色彩與長尾巴而廣為人知。屬於草食性，主要食用葉子、花與水果。善於利用強壯的腿與鋒利的爪子攀爬樹枝或岩石，能敏銳地察覺遠方的動態。被獵捕者威脅時會斷尾求生，但不久後又會重新長出。
Iguanas are known for their long tails and vivid colors. Primarily herbivorous, they eat leaves, flowers, and fruits. Excellent climbers, iguanas use strong limbs and sharp claws to navigate trees and rocks. Their tails can detach and regrow if lost to predators and can detect movement and predators from afar.
