形態與蝴蝶相似，但多在夜間活動，體表覆有較多細毛。翅色以褐、灰為主，具保護色效果。易被光吸引，常聚於燈火處，幼蟲期啃食樹葉或農作物，有時會造成損害。
Although similar in shape to butterflies, they are generally active at night and have a hairier body. Their wings are usually brown or gray, serving as camouflage. They are easily attracted to light and often gather around lamps. During the larval stage, they feed on leaves and farming crops, sometimes causing damage.
