beginner 2 views

In Crimson Desert, the Greymane Camp is your home base. As you progress through the main story, you can recruit scattered Greymane comrades, dispatch them on resource missions, and gradually upgrade the camp from a ragged tent into a thriving settlement.

This guide covers camp unlocking and upgrades, all 16 comrades and how to recruit them, the dispatch mission system and how to maximize rewards, and camp facilities like the farm, ranch, and workshops.

Camp System Overview

When It Unlocks

The Greymane Camp unlocks in Chapter 3: Howling Hill - Homestead. You'll reunite with your old comrade Marius, and after being granted a fief:

  • Set up a tent, carry supplies, plant a banner
  • Cook 2x Modest Clear Soup at the camp pot
  • Bring Marius back to camp β€” Carl (supplies) and Ross (dispatch coordinator) join along the way

How to Recruit Comrades

  • Talk to Marius β€” Find Marius at the Greymane Camp. He'll tell you where scattered comrades were last seen.
  • Check the Journal β€” Open Journal > Faction Quests > Greymanes > "Grounds of the Sunrise". Look for quests starting with "A Rumor..."
  • Travel to the quest location β€” Ride to the marked destination.
  • Complete the quest β€” Usually involves defeating enemies or rescuing a trapped comrade.
  • Comrade returns to camp β€” After completion, the new recruit appears at your Greymane Camp.
Tip: Marius unlocks more recruitment quests as your camp level increases. If you don't see new quests, upgrade the camp first.

Dispatch Mission System

What Are Dispatch Missions

Dispatch missions are passive resource-gathering activities: select comrades, assign them to a mission, wait a few in-game hours, and collect resource rewards. No player participation required.

How to Start a Dispatch

Two methods:

  • Talk to Ross β€” At camp, Ross shows all available missions in one list.
  • World map β€” Inspect a location on the map (Y / Triangle / double-click), open the "Missions" tab.

Three Ways to Maximize Rewards

MethodBonusDetails
Extra comrades+20% per personEach comrade beyond the minimum adds +20%
Matching skillsUp to +40%Assign comrades with relevant skills (e.g. Logger for logging missions). One comrade's multiple same-type skills DO stack, but the same skill across different comrades does NOT stack
Church donation+2% per levelDonate at the Donation Box in the region's church. Each Blessing level adds +2% to dispatch rewards in that area
Important skill stacking rule: If one comrade has both Logger I and Logger II, they stack. But if two comrades each have Logger I, only one counts. One person with multiple skills > multiple people with single skills.

Comrade Skills

Each comrade has 3-4 skills in two categories:

Efficiency skills (boost output): Escort, Farmer, Rancher, Fisherman, Smith, Logger, Miner

Required skills (certain missions need at least one): Craftsman, Jeweler, Engineer, Cook, Explorer, Painter, Weaver

Camp Supply Management

Carl's Resource Donations

Talk to Carl to donate five resource types:

CategoryWhat to Donate
ArmamentsWeapons, armor, accessories
StonesRocks, ores
TimberAll wood types
FoodCooked meals, ingredients
MoneySilver coins

Donated resources enter the camp reserve pool, consumed by dispatch missions.

Supply Chest

The Supply Chest behind Carl stores dispatch mission output and camp production. Check it regularly.

Each upgrade causes Marius to unlock new recruitment quests.

Pailune Reconstruction

After completing Chapter 7: Homecoming, unlock reconstruction of the Greymane homeland Pailune. Dispatch comrades to build:

Greymane Commissions

Camp comrades offer Commission quests β€” typically delivering materials or weapons.

Each commission completed = 1 Medium Bag (+3 inventory slots)

There are 27 commissions total. Completing all of them grants +81 inventory slots β€” the primary way to expand your carrying capacity.

Camp Special Facilities

Unlocked progressively as the camp upgrades:

RanchRaise chickens, cows, and goats
Timberturner WainwrightBuild trade wagons to transport packaged goods to trading posts
Emberwind WorkshopBuild Cloudcarts β€” rideable hot air balloons

Time-saving tip: Dispatch missions require in-game time to pass. After dispatching, sleep in your tent to fast-forward the wait.
