The Odeck's Protector armor set is one of the most visually striking equipment sets in Crimson Desert. This samurai-knight hybrid armor is tied to the Forgotten General, and all five pieces can be collected through open-world exploration long before Chapter 8.
There are two ways to get the full set:
- Exploration (recommended): Find 5 hidden locations across the map. Available early-to-mid game.
- Quest line: Complete the Odeck Tribe faction quest "Slumbering Soul" after Chapter 8 for the full set plus a matching Awakened Soul weapon. Both methods stack — collecting pieces early doesn't block quest rewards.
Prerequisite: Focus Force Palm
Four of the five pieces are locked behind metal walls that can only be broken with Focus Force Palm (L3+R3+R3). Make sure you've unlocked this ability before heading out.
Tips for using it:
- Aim at the glowing golden orbs on the wall
- Getting hit by enemies cancels the charge — always clear the area first
- Keep Spirit Potions handy for multiple uses in one location
1. Protector Plate Boots — Easiest Piece
Stats: Attack 17, Defense 5, Refinement 3 | Movement Speed +1, Damage Reduction
Location: Sanctum of Temperance, south of Hernand
No Focus Force Palm needed for this one. Enter from the northeast side via Windland Heights, climb the stairs, and look for a window-like opening in the wall. Climb through, then find a vine-covered entrance further inside. The treasure chest is right behind it.
Pick this up first — the Movement Speed bonus makes all the running around for the other pieces much more comfortable.
2. Protector Plate Gloves — Highest Attack
Stats: Attack 18, Defense 3, Refinement 3 | Health Regen, Climb Speed
Location: Perwin Quarry, south of Hernand in the Witchwoods
Head south through the Witchwoods to reach Perwin Quarry. Look for a metal wall in the cliffside. Clear all enemies in the area first, then use Focus Force Palm to shatter the golden orb and open the passage. Follow the cave path to the treasure chest. Bonus: there's also a Palmar Pill inside.
3. Protector Plate Helm — Abyss Gear Included
Stats: Defense 8, Refinement 3 | Pre-slotted Defense 3 Abyss Gear
Location: Cave near Hexe Sanctuary, north of Demeniss
Travel north from Demeniss toward Hexe Sanctuary. On the cliff wall facing the sanctuary, find a metal barrier hiding a cave entrance. Use Focus Force Palm to break through. Inside the cave, there are three golden orbs — you need to hit each one with a separate Force Palm charge. Watch out for Abyssal Cells inside that need to be sealed with Axiom Force. The treasure chest with the helmet is at the end.
4. Protector Plate Armor — Highest Defense
Stats: Defense 13 (highest in the set), Refinement 3 | Ice Resistance, Damage Reduction, Defense 3
Location: The Four Pits of the Wayward Woods, northwest of Pailune
Head northwest from Pailune into the foggy Wayward Woods. Find the blocked pit entrance and use Focus Force Palm on the metal barrier to destroy the golden orb. Follow the opened path downward through multiple levels. The treasure chest is at the very bottom.
This area has the highest enemy density of all five locations. Clear everything before attempting Force Palm — one hit will interrupt your charge.
5. Protector Plate Cloak — Most Hidden
Stats: Situational combat bonuses
Location: Black Bears' Hideout, Silver Wolf Mountain, east of Pailune
This is the trickiest piece to find. Do not enter through the obvious large cave opening — that's not the right path.
Instead, look for a narrow gap between the watchtower and the bridge. There's a hidden ladder leading underground. Descend and follow the single corridor, fighting through Black Bear enemies. Watch for ceiling collapses along the way.
At the end of the corridor, you'll reach a chamber. Drop through the hole in the floor to reach the lowest level. The cloak is sitting loose on the ground in the bottom-left area — it is NOT in a chest. Easy to miss if you're only looking for treasure chests.
Recommended Collection Order
- Boots (Sanctum of Temperance) — Easiest, Movement Speed bonus helps immediately
- Gloves (Perwin Quarry) — Highest attack stat, straightforward cave
- Helm (Hexe Sanctuary) — Defense + Abyss Gear, moderate difficulty
- Armor (Wayward Woods) — Best defense stat but heavy enemy presence
- Cloak (Black Bears' Hideout) — Save for last, hardest to find
Alternative: Quest Line Method
If you prefer to wait, the complete set plus a matching Awakened Soul weapon is awarded for completing the "Slumbering Soul" quest in the Odeck Tribe faction quest line. This quest line unlocks after Chapter 8 of the main story.
Both methods are compatible — collecting pieces through exploration early does not prevent you from receiving the quest reward later.
